Using the Smartphone Camera
The easiest solution is to use your smartphone’s built in camera. With the high quality camera these days, your photos should come out quite nice. Once you have snapped these old photos, you can transfer them to your computer, upload them on cloud storage, or put them up on your social media profiles such as Facebook, Instagram, etc, for the world to see.

Another quick way to digitize your old printed photos is to use scanner apps. There are plenty of free ones and plenty of other apps that require in-app purchases. The scan you do from photo scan apps will only come out as good as the quality of your camera.
Some of the photo scanner apps you should try are Heirloom, Shoebox, and Google’s Photoscan. Photoscan is the latest photo scanner app, and personally, I love it. Photoscan produces high quality digitized version of your old printed-family photos.
One of the three aforementioned methods should be just fine to digitize your old family photos. However, if you’re not satisfied with the results, or you don’t have a decent camera, then you can always outsource it to professional photo scanners. That’s going to cost a buck or two though.
